Our Soflan-R rigid polyurethane systems and its foam products have excellent heat insulation properties and self adhesiveness, thus is a general high-performance material that can be used in various fields, from cooling/refrigerating equipment to building materials.

We have also developed and launched environment-friendly non-fluorocarbon (water/cyclopentane) formulations, with more than 17 years of experience in this area, including equipment design, and also nearly 10 years experience with cyclopentane formulations.

Soflan-R Green Foam

First rigid polyurethane systems to
be credited with the Biomass mark in Japan

We developed SOFLAN-R Green Foam from plants. The product is the first rigid polyurethane stock solution in Japan to receive the Biomass mark from Japan Organics Recycling Association. [Date certified: April 21, 2011; registration number: 100035]

Some of the mineral resources that were used in the original product have been replaced with plant-derived castor oil in SOFLAN-R Green Foam. Products (rigid urethane foam) manufactured from this systems reduces use of mineral resources also when they are used, which lowers CO2 emissions because the system is carbon neutral.

Biomass mark
The Biomass mark was born out of Biomass-Nippon, a national strategy aiming to build a sustainable and nature-friendly society by lowering our dependence on fossil fuels. The Biomass mark is a label awarded to environmentally friendly products whose quality and safety have been recognized and where superior technology has made it possible to replace mineral resources with plant-derived resources (biomass).
